This Doula Training Class combines lecture, case examples, guided meditations, discussion, and experiential exercises. You will explore internally, and through engagement with others in the class, what it means to be dying. You will discover how different illnesses impact the dying process and how to provide emotional comfort to the dying and those caring for them by using powerful doula techniques.

You will learn how to remain open and available at intense moments; how to conduct a structured life review and support the dying person in creating legacy messages; how to work with rituals; how to guide people through the early days of grieving, as well as how to honor culture and human differences. By the end of the class you will have been exposed to the full scope of doula practice, including how to work with people who experience a sudden death of someone close to them.
