This live virtual class combines lecture, case examples, guided meditations, discussion, and experiential exercises. You will explore internally, and through engagement with others in the class, what it means to be dying. You will discover how different illnesses impact the dying process, how to facilitate advanced directives from a doula perspective, and how to provide emotional and basic physical comfort to the dying by using powerful doula techniques. 

You will learn how to remain open and available at intense moments, as well as how to honor culture and human differences. In addition, you will learn the basics of starting and maintaining a private practice. By the end of the class you will have been exposed to the full scope of doula practice, including how to work with people who experience a sudden death of someone close to them.
